c|net has published an article about a recent study on email usage. The study found that:
- people check their mail about five times a day
- 25% can't go without email for more than 3 days
- 41% check email first thing in the morning, before coffee
- 60% check email on vacation
- 47% check personal email at work
- Nearly 32 percent admitted they would give their e-mail address to a new acquaintance, compared with 37% and 28% of participants who expressed a willingness to part with their home and mobile numbers, respectively
- 77% have more than one account
More than 4,000 people across 20 U.S. cities participated in the survey, carried out by AOL in partnership with Opinion Research.
